I don't try to deal with the video outputs. I bought my self a present of a WD Live device (memory express) that can connect to your network via copper of wireless (if you use a add on usb wireless device) This device will find your shares on your compter. Put your movie (.avi .mpg etc) on the share and play. You can also use USB stick with the movie on it. It works great and even will do update to its firmware is connected to the internet.
