I'll be doing a mini workshop on Nov 16th on using the Drupal Content
Management System, in the basement at Protospace (1012 McLeod Trail SE).
This will be immediately following the regular protospace meeting, so,
about 7:30pm is my aim and should last about an hour or so, depending on
questions.
I'm specifically focusing on how an end-user would use the system. This
bypasses a lot of discussion of how to install and set up the system,
but for non-techies, this seems to be a stumbling block. We will look
at changing themes and/or customizing one (briefly), as well as URL
aliases, menus and general tips on content. If interest and time
permit, we may look into some of the more administrative tasks - like
setting up blocks, permissions, modules, etc.
My goal is to target a typical business type person who wants to control
the content on their site, but does not want to know how to maintain a
server. There is a nice tie-in here to working on the Protospace
website, which I will use for some of the demonstrations.
Maybe see you there.
Shawn
