The dell branded wifi adapters are generally broadcomm based.
Broadcomm is perhaps one of the worst hardware manufacturers I have
ever come across.  If you have the choice of another wifi adapter
(probably Intel) then take it.  With my Latitude, I upgraded from the
Dell branded wifi to an Intel one.  This turned out to be money well
spent.
