It works, it seems to have unlimited bandwith (I have pushed quite a large number of bits through this thing without getting so much as a phone call, let alone a nasty bill. The downside (and it is a big downside) is that it is bulky, and does not work while in motion. There is also no coverage outside of the city (well Edmonton and Red Deer it works but not on the road in between). I have tested a one of the Rogers sticks on my Ubuntu Laptop and it worked after 5 minutes of googling (there was an entry you had to make in udev to put the device into the proper mode, by default it was in a USBMS (mass storage) mode. I have no experience with the Telus and Bell variants. See if you can't get a trial. Perhaps you can convince someone who has one to lend it to you for a day or two to see if you can get it going.
