I would go ahead and do the correct thing. If
your DON doesn't want it done correctly, maybe you could remind her that she may
look good in stripes. If she continues to give you hard time you may want
to go to administration and explain the situation. If administration feels
that you are in error you might remind he/she of the regs and that you do not
look in stripes. If it continues to be a losing battle you have a few
options. 1. Do it wrong. 2. Quit. 3. Call
the hotline and/or CMS. CMS does have rewards for "whistle blowers".
While I normally do not encourage staff to call the state and/or feds it is
necessary at times if the administration continues to act in violation of the
law and expects you to do the same. I would always try to reason and
educate administration but sometimes there is no other way. My prayers are
