How would that be self-administration. Self-administration is the resident doing the whole process. If the nurses fixes the meds, she is still liable to ensure the resident takes them.

Are there any Nursing Homes that allow a resident to self administer meds AFTER the nurses dishes up the meds? We would like to start something like that, but the team cannot agree on what all of the requirements should be. Are there any ideas out there or does anyone have a policy/forms that they would be willing to share. My fax number is 320-864-7896 Attn: Kelly Antrim, RN. Again, this is AFTER the nurse dishes up the meds for the resident.
