Just because a resident goes to the hospital is not an automatic
skilling service for nursing. This resident would have had to receive
services in the hospital or in the nursing home on readmission that
would required skilled nursing. See RUGS guidelines, chapter 6 MDS
manual.

It would depend on why she went to the hospital. Even if she did not
qualify
for rehab, she could qualify for skilled nursing.

Hi
I have a resident who is recieving pt / ot serivces five times a
week .
She was admitted MA from home. No prior hosp stay. So, if for say this
resident goes to the hosp and she returns does that mean she would not
qualify for Part A benefits ?
any help would be deeply appreciated.
