-----Original Message-----For PPS assessments, you have 14 days after the ARD to sign it off as complete at R2b and 31 days after that to transmit (although the billing office should not be sending a claim until the assessment has been accepted into the state database). See page 2-22 in the RAI User's manual for a summary of the completion timing requirements.

Subject: Re: A question about ARD and R2B...
For OBRA-required clinical assessments (AA8a), the initial Admission assessment must be signed off as complete by the end of day 14 of the resident's stay. Other than that, in general, you have 14 days after the ARD to complete OBRA assessments also, although you must be careful to be sure to be within 92 days at R2b for quarterlies and within 366 days of the most recent VB2 of a comprehensive assessment for the annual requirement.
Chapter 2 of the RAI user's manual spells out the details for each type of assessment, including the SCSA and the Significant Correction. It is a very good resource.

I need clarification about dates. Can the R2B be 7 days after the ARD and RAPS/CP be 7 days after the R2B for any assessment, OBRA and PPS? And the submission date can be up to 31 days after the VB4? My billing department is under the impression that I have to close and submit by the date on my calendar (ARD) I told them no, but I am having a brain lapse about specific time frames.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Suzanne
