Per the MDS manual, ER visits do not qualify as Physician visits on the MDS. The MDS manual for clarification in section P7, This does not include exams conducted in an emergency room. If the resident was examined by a physician during an unscheduled emergency room visit, record the number of times this happened in the last 90 days in Item P6, Emergency Room (Visits).
