Okay this is off the subject but Im having a "need help" now problem. Is anyone
in MO having problems transmitting to state? I have been trying for 4 days and
unable to get through. IS has checked my computer and there is no problem on it
and I have called and e-mailed people at the state level with no respones ( big
surprise)
Our software allows us to print out an MDS audit
sheet with the date and who completed each section. We pass that around
with each MDS for Staff to sign the date they completed the MDS part.
Why not have each person input their own data into the computer as they
complete---much much faster!! Check with yout software vendor for an MDS
audit form.

I think I know how your feel about this issueâ pen
meeting the paper date does not reflect the date assessment was actually
doneâ signature timing has been discussed at length hereâ â and each time
I become more confused!!!! I am just hoping MDS 3.0 will address
this â. In the meantimeâ.. maybe someone will come up with an answer for
us.
Yes, I'm struggling with this issue myself
now. Just started at a facility that uses handwritten MDS' for
worksheets and has an input person, so the final computer-generated copy
may not be printed until after the fact, KWIM? Another thing to
consider is the handwritten MDS (worksheet) is shredded when the final
computer copy is printed and signed. So if the input occurs after the
fact, what to date the computer copy? i.e., date handwritten work
completed or date of computer-generated copy or date pen meets
paper? The biggest issue seems to be with other
disciplines-obtaining timely signatures as they may not sign until the next
day after the computer-generated copy is printed. Argh! Another
thing is we have a lot of other disciplines contributing to the MDS
(thankfully) but that means we have many signatures to obtain on the
computer-generated copy. I'm inclined to suggest keeping the
handwritten worksheets on the chart but... TIA! Cathy
