You need to send a discharge return not anticipated if they have been gone for a long time.  For example, if resident is sent out to the hospital, return anticipated, and he or she expires in the hospital, we do a D/C return not anticipated for the date they had expired in the hospital.

Subject: Residents in Cyberspace

What happens to those residents that we discharge with "return anticipated" and then something happens that they don't return? Do they just float in "cyberspace" forever? Some of these residents still keep showing up on my Q.I. reports. months later. Is there any way to get them off?
