Title: Newly Certified Beds

Yes.  I have the same situation here.  We converted 22 beds to certified in October 2002 and now are converting 8 more January 1, 2003.  You will need to do admission OBRA assessments on these residents and start the MDS cycle for them.

We are converting quite a few beds from non-certified to certified.  We have done MDSs on the people in the non-cert beds but have not transported to the state.  Will we have to do admission assessments on these long term care residents now although they may have been in the same bed for years?
