Transmission is only required on certified beds - not all beds.

MDS transmission has been required for all OBRA assessments since 6/22/98.  Have you received a citation in the mail for failure to transmit?  It is always a widespread scope and the initial cite is a âCâ, and it climbs the severity ladder on the second cite, etc.

We are converting quite a few beds from non-certified to certified.  We have done MDSs on the people in the non-cert beds but have not transported to the state.  Will we have to do admission assessments on these long term care residents now although they may have been in the same bed for years?
