Yep.  It truly happened.  Remember circulatory impairment can happen anywhere.  This lady ended up with a huge vascular leak below the aorta which first presented as this.  She ended up having to have the aorta repaired, parts of dead colon removed and the sacral area debrided with a flap.  It was one of the strangest things I have ever seen.  She ultimately died due to infection from all of the surgeries that she had.
