It will be state specific.......... some states require more than once every 60 days, so if there is a stricter standard you should follow it. For federal survey they only look for the 60 daysd..... but the state surveyors will look for the state requirement when they come out for something besides a federal survey.

According to the Requirements for LTC Facilities 483.40 Physicians Services,  the physician must see the resident once every 30 days for the first 90 days then once every 60days thereafter. The "Watermelon Book" still comes in handy!

I have a question, is there a rule on a skilled patient that says they have to see there doctor by a certain time or by a certain day or days while they are skilled?  I know the rules re: certifications and recertifications, that is not what I mean,  I am questioning Dr. visits.  Thanks!
