I don't know how you do it with 100+ beds and Med. A.  I have a 50 bed facility with 11 Med. A's and I am never caught up.  No one helps me with anything.  I schedule the assessments, make sure to notify all staff involved that their section needs completed by a certain day, coordinate weekly care plan meetings with staff and then attend family care plans as scheduled by social service, abuse coordinator, attend monthly UR meedtings.  I input all of nursing sections in MDS, that I have assessed.  Enter activities and dietary's sections.  Print, transmit and file MDS.  Make monthly notes on any med A that stay that long and at least quarterly notes on long term residents.  If a resident is having frequent falls, I re-assess them and make careplan changes.  I am also responsible for keeping the careplans up to date, without help from nursing.  There is no way I could do 100+ beds.  You deserve a big atta boy.

ANN do you complete all the OBRA MDS assessments, or do you have floor nurses help you?
I wish we could have another licensed nurse (at least part time) to help with the process.

I am also from Mass and work in a 126 bed dually certified facility. Have had as many as 20 MED a's,
but we are down to 9 right now.  I am the only RNA,C, but I am fortunate that I have some nurses
that do OBRA assessments (quarterlies, annual, admission, Sig changes).
