One more point --- if the RUG was affected, be sure to notify your business office manager.  She'll need to send an adjusted bill to your FI.

Significant Corrections of Prior assessments are only done when there has been no subsequent assessment that correctly coded the item in question. In other words, the quarterly corrected the database, but you are left with an older assessment that is incorrect. Your only means of correcting that old assessment would be by using a Modification. The question is, do you need to do it. Unless there is a payment issue, I would leave it alone.

Did the apparent existence of a feeding tube affect the RUG score on the OMRA? If so, you need to do a Modification.

Subject: Correction- STUPID mistake

Okay I need help.
I had a dietitian which mistakenly coded a resident with a tubefeeding on an OMRA who really didn't have a tube feeding, I didn't catch it until 90 days later on the next Quarterly due.

- I should have done a significant correction of prior assessment but I didn't . I just submitted the quarterly as usual but when I remembered I should have coded it this way it was too late and it has already been submitted to the state database.

- So what do I do now once I have submitted an assessment after a miscoded transmitted assessment.
- Does it have the ability to be fixed or what?
