Sheryl,  The MDS User's Manual provides specific information about PPS requriements for Restorative Nursing under MDS section P3, pages 3 - 191 to 195.  Pages 3 - 196 &  197 give examples of RestorativeNursing programs.  OBRA regulations F 309 - F318 touch on Restorative Nursing programs with the requirement ofkeeping residents at their highest, possible, practicable, functional level and residents not declining in functional ADLS unless a medical condition, etc. causes the decline.  The regulations  refers specifically to bladder function and Range of Motion (ROM).  Some states have more specific criteria in Medicaid and state requirements so you will have to check with Ohio for that. Subject: question on restorative

Can you tell me where I can find the information for restorative programs in the state of Ohio, I need to find out the law on program specific rules of minuets, staff to resident ratios, what can be counted and what can't.  I went to the CMS website and could not find the information. I am new to this position and I am developing the restorative program and need to know what the state of Ohio guidelines are.   Thank you.   Sheryl Romes.
