Good response Nathan. I tend to use the word
"declined" care as the resident is made aware of possible complications etc.

There is a difference between refusing and resisting. If someone is
alert and oriented you should not attempt to deliver care that they
don't want. If you document that they are A&Ox3 and resisiting, the
assumption must be that your are forcing them against their will.
Document that the resident refused care, not resisted.
