You know what?   I misread the original question.  When I saw there was no therapy after the 24th, I read that as the ARD being the 24th.  I agree with you, Nathan... as of the ARD, therapy was not being delivered, thus  projected minutes should not be included.

I need to quit responding on Saturday mornings before coffee.

Maybe I misread the question, but I don't think she was asking about doing a correction. I was under the impression she was asking if it was correct under those circumstances to estimate minutes. My response is still no based on the fact that as of the ARD there was no intent to deliver therapy. That intent disappeared when the decision was made to stop therapy due to the residents inability to participate.

I don't think so. The minutes in section T are estimated minutes the resident is expected to receive in 15 days. There is no need to do a correction if the resident is discharged prior to completion of the 15 days.

If the estimated therapy to be delivered in section T is not delivered over the next 15 days, then you actually have to do a modification-you can not bill for what you did not deliver. Best to reflect in sect. T only what you now know was actually delivered. Is this poor soul an SE3 anyway?

I don't think I gave enough info.  Resident admitted 1-23-04 all three therapies saw and evaluated and ordered therapy.  Pt was the only therapy given during the lookback period as resident became ill and was unable to part. in any therapy after
1-24-04.  He expired shortly after the ARD.  Now, is it appropriate to estimate therapy?

Is it appropriate to estimate therapy on the 5 day assessment if the resident expired during the lookback period?  I used to know the answer to this.  Thanks.
