When we have a resident that is prone to falling, we do not care plan a
goal of "will not fall" since that is unrealistic. We do not use
restraints, but we do use bed checks, chair checks, personal monitors, and
we even have one resident with a video camera on her night stand with the
monitor at the nurses' station. (With her husband's consent of course).

The goals I use are "will benefit from falls prevention program" if they
are using the monitors. Otherwise, my goal is "will not sustain traumatic
injuries if falls occur"

The surveyors have not given me any grief about these goals.
