Do you mean to say that you have the equivalent of three
nurses just working on MDSs for the 120 beds? Is this in
addition to the coordinator?
We have a full time MDS coordinator who functions as the
date-setter, checker, submitter, Medicare coverage decision
maker, tracker of condition changes etc. Then we have one
32hour a week nurse doing MDSs for the 60 bed transitional
care unit and a nurse manager who completes the ltc MDSs in
addition to her other duties on her 60 bed unit.
We are finding that this is not enough.

I am working in a 120 bed facility. We are running about
105 census w/
about 30 MCRs. We have 2.0 FTEs: 1 FTE LPN 1.8 FTE RN and
.2 FTE LPN. How does
this stack up against the way most facilities of this size
are running?
