We have 120 beds - 20-25 Medicare A and the rest long term Alzheimer's.  I do all the MDS's, care plans, RAPS, run the Medicare meetings, go to stand-up everyday, work about 15 hours per day and both days over the weekend.  When I took this job in December, there was absolutely no training - I mean NO training - the old Mds coordinator left without talking to me - and I subsequently found out some of the MDS's were from MAY!!  I have only been in long term care since last February, and only heard of MDS about halfway through the year last year.  Needless to say, I have been drowning.  Through a lot of hard work and FORCING cooperation from the rest of the Administrative staff, things are looking up.  There are still HUNDREDS of things I don't know, but it is getting better.  I have spent hours feeling sorry for myself and crying about taking this job (and in frustration), but reading this listserve has really helped, and kept my focus.  I love the work I do and am very proud of what all I have accomplished.  You all should be too!!  Thanx.  :)

If your referencing the number of NACs, our building is 134 beds runs 10-12 medicare and we have one FT RN and one FT LPN.  We are told constantly that we have too many mds people.

I am working in a 120 bed facility.  We are running about 105 census w/ about 30 MCRs.  We have 2.0 FTEs: 1 FTE LPN 1.8 FTE RN and .2 FTE LPN.  How does this stack up against the way most facilities of this size are running?
