You may correct any assessment nce you discover the error , no matter how long ago the assessment was completed. You must make the correction within 14 days of realizing the error. See chapter 5 of the RAI manual. The Medicare bills might be able to be corrected, but it depends how much time has passed since that Medicare bill has been sent. Communicate the change to your billing department immediately so they can determine whether or not Medicare can be re-billed. You will need to correct the assessment and transmit it, have it accepted into the state data base, before billing can submit a re-bill.
