I guess what I was trying to say , was that if your original PPS assessment was incorrect and ,therefore, the RUGS billed was incorrect, you would need to correct the MDS to determine the correct RUGS group.  Then transmit that corrected assessment so that it was accepted as correct(ed) in the state data base so that billing could be done.  It follows to me that if you cannot send the original Medicare bills until the assesssment is accepted as locked into the state data base, that a correction to the Medicare bill would have the same requirement.
