The extended survey IS a direct result of the Immediate Jeopardy.  Need to dig deeper to see is there is anything else placing your resident in jeopardy.  Be prepared for sanctions due to the Immediate Jeopardy, despite the fact that you have already corrected the problem.  Our immediate jeopardy nearly 2 years ago was not even related to CNA staff, yet we got 2 years of not being able to train CNAs in our facility or our attached hospital and no employee of our corporation can teach them.  Just a few more months to go!!!
Keep doing what you do best and keep your head up.  There are always things that could be worse.

Well, when they came in they saw chemicals (cleaning supplies, mouthwash, etc) in areas the resident's could get to, so we got immediate jeopardy yesterday but we corrected it before we/they left for the night.  They told us last night it was now an "extended survey" (would this be related to the immediate jeopardy or something else?). We went thru resident rooms last night & moved all items related to this stuff to the top of the closet- some residents were not happy AT ALL!  I am kinda worried some may fall trying to get to their lotion!   I am in Alabama...  We have the poison control
number posted on each hall.

The surveyors are asking for MSDS sheets on personal shampoo, family brought air freshener, lotion, etc. Anyone heard of this?
Did something happen at your facility to warrant them honing in on these items? Ask them to show you the reg that requires you to have these available for items brought in by the family. Do you have the number for Poison Control handy? In what state are you located?
