We do random drug screening. This lowers our workers comp rate and I also think our
insurance. We have a urgent care "doc in a box" that administers the program and it is
truly random. We average about 16 random tests a year and the same person could be
tested multiple times. Our facility only knows if the person tested positive after the
sample is tested twice, and the MD at the testing place has had a meeting with the
employee to see if there is any reason the test is positive. Only two people in our
facility get the results. I don't think there is any reason why you couldn't do it
unless you are unionized and the contract won't allow.
We just had a drug free work-place this week and part of the program is yearly
in-service. Hope this helps.

We do them prior to hire - but that is it.
