Take your breather, Holly...How dedicated to this facility are you? If you are very dedicated, then stand your ground. If not, maybe it would be better to move on and let your ADON sink in her own quagmire of deceit - because it WILL catch up with her someday. To have three key staff members basically walk out does not bode well - maybe there are more problems under the surface than you really want to deal with. At any rate, I have appreciated being exposed to your expertise on this list-serve, and there are a lot of facilities out there who will appreciate you as well - "let us not cast pearls before swine" - or something like that!! Take Care.....

I will choose this response to reply to on the list.I will probably not be around the list very much for a few days. This day has been the most bizarre, hurtful, unbelievable mess I have been through, and y'all know the last few months have been nothing but a mess. There was a very, very nasty power play involving an ADON who is incompetent and dishonest. She won, for now.I won't go into all the bitter details... suffice it to say she pulled something out of my past to cast me in a very negative light, and used it to convince the interim administrator I should not be DON. He is (of course) really, really sorry, but this is "really for the best for everyone involved'.Yeah, except for the residents. No one seems to remember themAnyway, I am crawling into a hole for a little while. Will be reading the list, but not responding.Thank you all for your support, kindness, encouragement, etc.Holly----- Original Message -----From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2004 4:06 PMSubject: Re: HELLLLLLPPPPPP!In a message dated 3/10/2004 1:54:36 PM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:Hi, Group!Well, so much can happen over the course of a week. Most of you know that I had resigned from my position and should have been starting a new job this week. In the month since I gave my resignation, the management group, DON and administrator have resigned. Much negotiation followed and I had decided to stay on as MDS Coordinator.Well, as of today, I am acting DON. It was very, very sudden, (DON, Administrator and staffing coordinator all essentially just walked out this am.) I had decided last night to apply for the job, and was handed keys, pager , phone and staffing book this am.I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BEING A DON!Anyone out there with DON experience, and if there are current DONs on the list, please email me privately. I have so many questions I don't know where to start. Thanks in advance.HollyHolly F. Sox, RN, BSN, RAC-CClinical EditorEver heard the _expression_ "jumped from the fire to the frying pan"? I wish you the best of luck. I've never been the DON and I don't think I would want to. Best wishes. Hope you get lots of advice.
