What is the MDS coordinator to do when on vacation for 2 weeks and returns to find several new admissions that arrived while away from the facility?  The reality is that the facility waits for the MDS coordinator to return to set dates.  Is the facility to take default on all of the 5 day assessments for these admissions as 8 days have passed?  Many of us do not have anyone to cover for the coordination of assessments.   A similar scenerio includes the periods in which the MDS coordinator is pulled to do other duties in the faciliy.  Grace days are accepted for this instance but what if the assessment window has closed?  Again defaults for all assessments?
