I don't think she can be hospice and med a at the same time. Its like double dipping since hospice is funded by med a. The family could chose to take her off hospice and use med A benefits and then re admit to hospice later. This is really not a good practice but has been done.

Subject: Medicare/hospice ?

I have a hospice resident that fell and broke her hip.  Hospice diagnosis is pancreatic cancer.  She has returned from the hospital and her hip fracture was pinned.
Would she be eligible for both Medicare A (hip fracture) and hospice (cancer)?
