Hospice can "carve"out benefits for therapy. but won't be under med A as I understand -----Original Message----- From: Richardson, Christine [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2004 10:20 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Medicare/hospice ?
I don't think she can be hospice and med a at the same time. Its like double dipping since hospice is funded by med a. The family could chose to take her off hospice and use med A benefits and then re admit to hospice later. This is really not a good practice but has been done. CAR -----Original Message----- From: Sara Hayden RN,C [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2004 8:31 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Medicare/hospice ? I have a hospice resident that fell and broke her hip. Hospice diagnosis is pancreatic cancer. She has returned from the hospital and her hip fracture was pinned. Would she be eligible for both Medicare A (hip fracture) and hospice (cancer)?
