Bless your heart! I
hope you got your nap
Christine
Let's see - to make it home like, if the cook won't cook what you want,
you could go out to eat or marry another cook so I guess we could put them all
in a van that is hopefully the van of everyone's choice (the residents, the
government, etc.) and go to a local greasy spoon and they can get an over easy
egg that they bought from the same place we get our eggs. But of course
the eggs at the greasy spoon don't have the potential of salmonella as they
did eaten in our facility!! (Forgive me, I have spent a week with a
survey team made up of 8 State surveyors, 2 Federal surveyors plus a
pharmacist and Life Safety that floated in for a day each in a small
facility that has only 73 residents! - I have a right to cynical, insane,
irrational and ready for a nap today!)

In CA we had residents sign waivers for soft
cooked eggs. Then the Department of Health Services sent a memo that
this was not allowed.
Delores
Lets see,
was the res alert ,is it documented that she is aware that soft
undercooked yellow in an egg may cause salmonella, is she aware of the
risks,is it care planned? Its just awful the things you have to do to
give a res what the want. The state often says they want the facility to
be home like. Who has to jump through all theses hoops to get an over easy
egg!!!! Christine
