Most likely, she is referring to the use of the OMRA, which continues to pay at the rehab RUG until the ARD of the OMRA for residents who will continue to receive skilled services after all rehab has been discontinued.  This would not apply, of course, if all skilled services are discontinued at the time that all rehab services are discontinued.  The PPS Final Rule addresses this - page 41656 Federal Register / Vol. 64, No. 146 / Friday, July 30, 1999 at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/providers/snfpps/snfpps_pubs.asp

Could someone please point me to the exact place where I can download the RAI manual on-line! The DON has decided to sit in on the Medicare Meeting and states that Medicare has given facilities a "freebie" for 8 days after therapy has DCed. I disagree however I would like to take the documentation to her.Thanks! Annette
