Admitted a resident with ischemic LE, is completely blocked, refuses to
have amputation or any other surgery. Resident and family are aware of
outcome. Extremity is cold and toes are starting to blacken. Can I keep
her covered under MC with wound care for this? Has blisters on posterior
calves also. No topical treatment, just being covered, has a foot cradle
and pressure relieving bed. Thanks in advance for your assist. Dian
I would think that you could skill simply because there is more than one ulcer.  You're also monitoring for further complications from the gangrene that is starting to occur.  I definitely think that this resident is requiring skilled care.
