Not legal in Maryland--a bedhold can only be for while the person is in the acute care hospital. (and at only 15 days in a stretch...) Maybe your state allows different? (but doubtful, with public aid funding being what it is these days...)

Not legal in our state--double dipping.  we can hold a bed but not charge for it if we move a resident to anther unit.  We are 100% certified so only move if need special services done on Transcare unit.

I have a lady that is in a Medicare bed getting med a benefits.  She is also a long term resident that is public aid.  The powers that be want to charge her a bed hold while Med A covers 100 days for tube feed.  Is this legal, ethical, what?
