Hello
All,
I've been thinking
about today. Three years ago I watched in horror as two planes
deliberately crashed into the world trade towers in NYC. I was really sick
and "crashing" on Interferon. Actually, I never realized how sick I was, I
knew I was thrombocytopenic, but until I re-read all my medical records a few
months ago, I didn't know that I was actually pancytopenic. My very best
friend in the world was in the towers after taking the "path" into NYC, and I
was worried sick (literally) because she wasn't answering her cell phone.
By around 4:30 that afternoon, we finally found her. She had gone outside
for a cup of coffee and noticed burnt "ticker-tape" falling around the street
coffee vendor and saw the burning hole in one of the buildings. Her office
building was a couple of streets away and by the time she got there another
plane had "crashed". She rounded up her colleagues and they
started their journey to Brooklyn by foot. Later on that night, after
finally talking to her on the phone, I went to the hospital for a transfusion.
It took a long time for Margaret and I to recover from that day's horrible
event. When I visited her this summer, we actually almost took the "path"
into town, but I looked at her and say "Nah, lets take the ferry instead".
Although I haven't
lived there for a very long time - I still LOVE New York!
Love, Peace and
Light,
Cheryl-Anne
