Hey guys, this is lynne a. A little shaky still, just released from
hospital. was rushed on sun. am with terrible nausea and vomiting and very sick.
Still don't know what it was, but they did a whole bunch of tests and released
me. Just wanted you all to know they are really, really pushing me to BMT. I am
so upset and angry. I made the choice of no BMT 4 years ago and am sticking to
it. but the doctors are sick of my bone pain issues and want me to get a bmt. I
am adamant NO BMT. Now they want me to see a psychiatrist. Brother. If that
wasn't enough, my insurance carrier said they dropped us. So for 5 days I
luckily used my Medicare part A & B but that doesn't cover the cost of the
drugs (morphine, ativan, compazine, etc.) Finally today I got it all
straightened out and now I am covered because they legally cannot just drop a
member from an HMO without offering them a. notification in writing, and b. have
to offer Cobra. Which they didn't so you can see I was extremely anxious
about the whole thing. Well, I at least got 3 days' much needed rest and TLC and
now I am off to battle more doctors against BMTing.
HELP. I need some support that what I am doing is right,....the right to
stay alive on Gleevec, no matter the bone pain issues, I think it is a lot
better than going to a BMT with no matched sibling donor, right? - Thanks, guys.
