Penny,

Ive been on 400 mg of gleevec for almost 6 months so I dont have much experience in to it. What I can say is it helps to take it at night before bed , that way you sleep through alot of withdrawls. I have bone pain so sever i can barely move, swelling of the eyes, leg and foot cramps ,(gas ) shhhh lol and a few other but these are the most bothersome. Im feel like im 80 trapped in a 31 y/o body lol The sick belly and energy has beeen alot better since taking it before bed.The gleevec it will ( though ive been told by my doc. it wont ) make you drowsey.

question for the group .............. does anyone else feel bruised from head to toe , my skin has become sooo sensitive to the touch . It hurts to even be touched. Usually one side or the other but sometimes both.Also ive noticed with the foot cramps its an all day thing for me and when the cramps are done that area feels bruised also.

You will see people writing about eye bleeds (seems to be a common problem), bone pain, puffy eyes, dry skin, and my worst was cramping in legs, feet, and other muscles. I take ibuprofen for pain, although recently we've heard that it's not good for you. I did not experience the severe bone pain, so I can't be much help except to sympathize. I do believe this is one symptom that will get better as the body adjusts.
