Char, I just wanted to share my experience. I was dx'd in Nov. 2003. For much of the next 6 to 8 months, my PCR numbers were up and down. The transplant doctor I was seeing at that time kept telling me I was not responding well to the Gleevec, and said he thought I was building up a resistance to the Gleevec and was pressuring me to have a transplant. I was totally against transplant from the beginning, I mean for me personally it is was not an option. Anyway, he increased my dosage from 400mg to 600mg and then to 800mg. I could not tolerate the 800mg and I now take 600mg. After 15 months, I have almost made it to complete remission. I did confer with Dr. Brian Druker for a second opinion. I was terrified for a whole year but I gradually made it. I think everyone responds to Gleevec differently considering the side effects and how well, or how soon you respond to it. Maybe you should try an increased dosage. Hope my input has helped you in some way? Love, Peace, Hope & Prayers, Pat
