Higher Gleevec doses work for some, but not for others. The higher doses also have more side effects. It sounds like you have a very proactive doctor, willing to get you into a trial. (I had to beat down my old doctors door just to get a Gleevec prescription just after it was FDA approved!) I've heard the 'super gleevec's' (AMN107 and the BMS<TooLongToRememberNumber>) are proving themselves worthy Gleevec rivals, with fewer reported side effects. It might be worth a try.
