Hello Brenda,
My name is Marcia, I am 51 years old and have been on 400mg. for 2.5 years! I have the most debilitating cramps in both thighs that I am paralyzed in the dark, only help is to scream for my husband to bring ice bags that I have made up. There is no warning and my legs feel sore for the whole next day. I am not sure about you but I get them at the same time in the same spot of both legs. But the is does help. My biggest problem now is this horrible test in my mouth, I have no desire to eat because It's like poison or something, has anyone else experienced this? I have now lost 7lbs. in 3 months, and when I do eat it passes right thru! I am really weak at times so I am looking at some clinical trials, sine they are saying there are less side effects, but I haven't heard anything officially yet. But on the brighter side I am still here, and continue to be POSITIVE, and the key word BRAVE. Good luck to you........ Marcia

Nancy,
This is one of the most common side effects of Gleevec (cramping). I
had the same effects as you in the beginning, calves and feet/toes.
the only thing that would help was walking them off and it would
sometimes be 15 or 20 minutes before they would stop. After 6 months
and as time has passed the cramping has lessened and are further and
further a part in occurrences. Potassium and calcium may help. I
just hope you don't get one of those big ones when your sleeping. I
had that happen to me several times and it was so annoying and
disorienting. Good luck and
