Does anyone take oxycodone for side effects of Gleevec/cml symptoms? Yes, I do. I had battled bone pain for a full year before I agreed to be
put on Oxycontin, Oxycodone for breakthrough. It is highly addictive, and I had
problems with it last year, but I have since gotten it to the point where the
dose is adequate for pain control and I don't have to use more than
prescribed. It is supposed to be one of the safer pain meds to take, but
if you are on it for long-term, you cannot just stop taking it, withdrawal is
quite painful I am told, and I do not look forward to the day I have to go
through that.
Not everyone on Gleevec has bone pain to the point where they suffer daily,
I hear that we are a small group of patients that suffer this side effect long
term. I was going to get off of Gleevec because of this, but as long as I
am given pain relief, I battle on. - Lynne A.
