Hi all,

My wife as I mentioned was dx in June 27 weeks pregnant.....I think my wife is doing better at accepting all this as I find myself to be extremely stressed....We have daughter who is 23 mths old as well.....The stress is causing me to be very easily irretated and angry about everything but I am also not getting much sleep......

I was wondering if there are any suggestions for "spouses" and how to cope?

Steve
Steve, All of the spouses of cml patients are stressed to the limit.  They may not all act the same but stressed they are!  The person that you chose to spend your life with is in one hell of a position and you are right there with them.  You can't carry the same burden but the burden you carry can be worse than theirs.  You not only have to hold up your spirits but theirs also.  It's very important for their will not weaken and the depression is at times over whelming.  Your love for your wife will help you to a point because you know your support is so necessary.

As for advice on how to cope.  Try to find a support group in your area, where we live there is a place called the Cancer support center.  We went to meetings that were for Leukemia people only.  The information that was gained really helped us and eased many anxieties that we had.  The knowledge that others are or have had the same problems that we were experiencing along with the things that they did to help the situation really helped us alot!

I hope this helps you some,
