I found your note interesting about the side effects of your cousin.  My daughter, who has had tinnitus in one ear, since starting Gleevec was told by her doctor that he wasn't aware of that being a problem with Gleevec, yet I continue to read on the boards of people having this problem rather it is from edema or what, I don't know.
The skin rash problems seems to be a very common problem with the Gleevec.  Our problem is not rash so much as effecting the pigmentation and causing her red hair to go snow white and her freckles to start fading.  The dermatologist wasnt concerned and said he would see her in a year.  But then again, did he know anything about Gleevec?  I'm very cynical at this point.
Still waiting here to see if her chromosome studies will show any mutations as we were told that this should now be done at 3 months because of the ability to find  early mutations.  Also waiting for FISH results.
