Hi,
My niece was dx in Sept. we believe in the
accelerate stage. She is
currently on 600 mg of Gleevec and
seems to be doing well. Dr.
mentioned at last visit
about doing a BMT since one of her sisters is
a perfect match
10/10. Not sure how I feel about that. She is
being treated at MSKCC in NYC and that is where she had her second BMB
done last week. We are waiting for resutls.
She is the oldest of
my brother's 5 children. Her name is
Marisa. I thank God that she
is responding well to
Gleevec. At dx her wbc was appro. 170,000 and
is now at
2.4. She was also dx with blast's in blood and
marrow.
She is a sweetheart. She
is not able to go to school, dr.'s orders
since her ANS is low

I knew nothing about CML prior to
her dx. The internet has been a
wonderful source
of knowledge of me. My SIL and brother know that I
read
about CML and share the information I gather with
them.
Just wanted to introduce
myself. I pray for
everyone.
