Folks, My insurance plan is changing in 2006 I just found out yesterday. I currently am ordering Gleevec through mail order from my pharmacy program and paying a very minimal amount. I just found out I will have to pay 20% of the amount for each three month order which will amount around $2500 each time. I cannot afford this and let them know. They have not contacted me back yet if there are any other options. That is why I am coming here. I went on Gleevec back in summer of 2001 and immediately had a great response and things have been great since. I won't last long without the medicine and I'm sure I would have to have a BMT quick.
There were programs in 2001 for assistance with getting the medicine if you could not afford it. I didn't look into them much because it wasn't necessary with my insurance covering. Now, I am needing help. Can anyone out there help me with programs? Contact numbers? Contact names? My background: 35 years old, married with a 6 year old daughter that I would love to continue raising. I have a BM biopsy every six months and each one has been super since I started taking Gleevec.
