Chris, I had something similar happen to me. My insurance company notified me they were discontinuing my policy and offered me another one with only 5000 of prescription drug coverage per year. I live in Washington, and if you can't get individual insurance, you qualify for a state high risk pool. I applied to a different carrier for an individual policy and got denied, then I cancelled my policy and applied to the state pool. I had to go without insurance for a month, but it worked. Now my drug coverage is even better than before. I don't know where you live, but you might check to see if there is a pool for people who can't otherwise get individual insurance.
