Hi Samantha,   My husband was diagnosed in late August 2005, and the Dr. that initally perscribed gleevec told him that he would have problems with ankles swelling or retaining water.     When we went to COF the Dr. there told him the same thing. The medicine that helped my husband was Voltaren, it realy helped my husband he was limping there for  a while. I am sure that if you ask your Dr. he will know if it is okay for you..
