Adriana, FMLA will hold your job for a certain period of time, but after that it is up to your companies policy what happens then. If he has STD and or LTD he needs to check on those guidelines your company policy has and if it will work for you guys and the doc goes along get on it!! I say this because depending on the state you live in his boss could get rid of him with no recourse if he misses to many days, or is having work performance problems. Saddly if your company has a heart you will be fine, if not you can have problems. I have been extremely fortunate that I had good LTD insurance as a benefit
