Thank you Anjana for that clear explanation!  Puts my mind at rest (I was a little worried not having had a biopsy in over 2 years).  I am PCRU but was unsure how the mutations were identified. 
 
Do you think once the BMS drug is available that patients will be able to switch over to it, to avoid some of the side effects of Gleevec (specifically edema and weight gain and increasing muscle cramping)?  I have had a good response to 600 mg. Gleevec but I thought I might want to switch over once BMS became available, if possible.  Any insight into this situation?  Jane
